The Icelandic-style sweater is a classic we never tire of. This version, a raglan sweater for children, is practical, beautiful and timeless. It has a comfortable, neat fit with a decorative pattern border between the raglan increases and stripes on the rib edges. The two-colour pattern consists of two solid rounds and two rounds of a simple pattern repeat.

The sweater is knitted in the round from the top down, following a chart, with raglan increases. The neckband is knitted first in striped 1x1 rib, then the yoke – first back and forth with short rows to shape the neckline, then in the round. Body and sleeves are then knitted separately in the round, finished with striped 1x1 rib.

Recommended needles: 2 mm and 3.5 mm (circular 40 and 80 cm, and DPNs)

Gauge: 24 sts and 30 rows in stockinette = 10 cm
